I sketch out multiple ideas, expiermenting with different potential hooks and compositions. This allows me to quickly produce different ideas before settling on anything. The client can then decide what they want to go with

Final

In this instance I used 3D assest as it gives me greater control over the exact look, like posing/lighting/angle. The Minecraft update wasn't out when I was making this thumbnail so the assests were actually made from scratch referenced from the Minecraft live showcase
